POTTERS' MARKET TAVISTOCK: SATURDAY 17TH OCTOBER

Our October visit was to the  Westcountry Potters' exhibition, held in the Butchers Hall in the lovely town of Tavistock. Over 20 potters were showcasing a wide variety of their original work/ceramics. We were very impressed by the wonderful creations on display, and purchases were made by some of us (!) The day was rounded off by lunch in the Bedford Hotel, and a walk along the river.

 

 

BOVEY TRACEY MAKERS FAIR: SATURDAY 13TH JUNE

On a sunny early summer morning, using the services of LAMA (Lerryn Area Minibus Association), 13 of us ventured into Devon for one of our favourite annual events. The exhibition takes place in several large tents, displaying a vast range of work including painting, sculpture, glass, jewellery, leatherwork…and corn dollies! It’s always particularly nice having the opportunity to speak to the - largely local – makers about items of particular interest.

 

 

DELAMORE ARTS: MONDAY 18TH MAY

On a rather rainy day, 14 of us boarded the LAMA Minibus to make what has become one of our nicest annual trips to Delamore Arts, Ivybridge/Devon. We enjoyed the fabulous garden and grounds as well as the paintings and garden sculptures around Delamore House. As always, the day was enjoyed by all, despite the wet stuff which did clear - a bit!

 

                                               

PENLEE HOUSE (PENZANCE): THURSDAY 16TH APRIL

On a pleasant spring day our April visit took us to Penlee House/Penzance to see exhibitions of photographs and portraits: Henry Penhaul: Life Through a Lens, and Face to Face: Portraits From Penlee's Collection. Followed by lunch in the Gallery's fabulous café (crab open sandwiches a popular choice!)
