The trip involved going to Hayle RSPB site meeting at Ryan's field and moving to various locations nearby around the reserve. Initially 10 had signed up but the weather increasingly became very inclement. Finally 2 members decided to go to Godrevy in the morning first, to see the seals and meet up with 2 others at Ryan's field . Godrevy proved fruitful for birds (as well as the seals) and should be considered as a future venue - Hayle was a wash out bar about 30 mins - though plenty of birds on estuary didn't disappoint. Altogether 44 species were recorded between the two venues which included Choughs, Merlin, Water rail, Reed Bunting, Turnstone and waders and ducks at Godrevy and Golden Plover, Teal, Widgeon, Mediterranean Gull along with Little Egret and Kingfisher at Hayle. Despite the weather the trip was actually a surprising success for those who braved the day - we were all somewhat soggy by the end though....
