The group began the year with a workshop organised by one of our members where we used tetra packs to print our designs. It was very enjoyable and something completely different. As Spring arrived we produced paintings of bluebell woods, still life paintings of flowers and also of favourite objects. We then studied Jean Haines’ techniques with the help of videos and attempted paintings of primroses and dogs adopting her very loose style. We then moved on to animals in pastel with the aid of a video by Vic Bearcroft, then a colour coordination exercise using any medium and as the weather warmed, a cooling sea scene.
